Berlin Wall - December 2004

Last December, for my 40th birthday, I was able to meet up with my parents Austin and Isabel, and my brother Craig and his wife Nikki for a long weekend.

It was cold, but the hot mulled wine they served at the Christmas markets scattered around the city kept us warm inside. This photo shows Isabel, my parents, Craig & Nikki standing next to one of the few remaining sections of the Berlin wall.

I was stationed in Berlin in the USArmy in 1970 and 71. It is so amazing to realize that it, and what it stood for, no longer exists. Thanks for this photo.

Wow, elderbob. Have you been back since? I'm sure you would be amazed by all the changes. I didn't get to see Berlin before the wall came down, but could appreciate just how much the city has transformed...and still is transforming.
